Micki Free

Grammy award winning guitarist Micki Free was born in Texas, but grew up in Germany where he was first introduced to rock and roll when one of his sisters took him to a Jimi Hendrix concert.  At that moment, his life was changed at that forever.  After years of practice, Micki formed his own band and at the age of seventeen was discovered by Gene Simmons while opening for KISS, Ted Nugent, and REO Speedwagon.  With encouragement from Simmons, Micki joined Shalamar just in time for their major breakthrough hit.  He has since recorded with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Carlos Santana, Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, and many other established artists.
